Helium Side Chair

Creative Wood recently acquired the reputable chair manufacturer BCI. They brought me in to modernize their line of chairs and bring something different to the market. This chair challenged the engineering team by it's "floating lumbar" and they are currently making prototypes to test the concept.

Our client Michael Taylor has a classic sense of style and pushed us to create an outdoor teak furniture line that "you'd feel comfortable placing inside your home". Working with Martin Linder we obsessed over every detail while limiting the use of teak forest wood without diminishing the design.

Sail Cloth Bean Bag Lounge

My good friend sails in the competitive Folk boat fleet in SF bay and I was surprised to hear how often they discard their sails for new ones. I thought it was a waste until I realized the opportunity for a free material resource. I worked with a sail manufacturer to sew up a few prototypes and the result was extremely functional outdoor furniture with a relevant aesthetic for any coastal home.
